Spotlight on Leadership: Nate Fulton, Scholarship Committee Chairman

We are fortunate to have leaders who bring both professional expertise and personal passion to our mission. One such leader is Nate Fulton, who serves as a member of the board of directors and chairs the Scholarship Committee.

Nate is the Managing Director of Specialty Practices at Marsh McLennan Agency’s Northwest Region, where he plays a key role in supporting the Agriculture, Construction, Health Care, Transportation, and Surety teams within the Business Insurance division. He works closely with practice leaders to develop talent, manage carrier relationships, and deliver risk management solutions to clients. Additionally, he collaborates with fellow Managing Directors to implement strategic initiatives across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana, aligning regional goals with the agency’s national objectives.

Before joining Marsh McLennan Agency in 2017, Nate built a strong foundation in business development through a decade of experience at Moss Adams LLP and Wells Fargo Bank. His work focused on delivering financial solutions and resources to food and agriculture industry clients throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Nate’s connection to agriculture runs deep. His grandparents owned and operated a vertically integrated apple growing and packing operation in Omak for 50 years. Growing up with this legacy instilled in him a deep appreciation for the tree fruit industry and the families it supports.

Nate has continuously pursued education and leadership development throughout his career. In 2024, he earned his MBA from Eastern Washington University, adding to his Economics degree and Marketing Certificate from the University of Washington. He is also a graduate of Class 39 of the AgForestry Leadership Program (2018), which further strengthened his expertise in agricultural policy and industry leadership.

Nate brings his passion for education and agriculture to his WAEF roles. His leadership supports a fair, transparent, and thorough applicant review process. As a parent to two young men, Nate understands firsthand the importance of educational opportunities and the role that scholarships play in shaping students’ futures.

We are grateful for Nate’s dedication to WAEF and the expertise he and other volunteers bring to the tree fruit industry’s premier charity.
