Our mission is to impact lives through access to educational opportunities.
The Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) is the charity of the tree fruit industry. Our mission is to impact lives through access to educational opportunities.
WAEF was founded in 1994 by members of Washington’s tree fruit industry with a desire to advance the industry’s charitable work. Today, WAEF supports college-bound young people, provides scholarship training in regional high schools, funds the work of community and school organizations providing scholastic assistance to farmworker families and connects the values of tree fruit industry members with good works in the community.

What WAEF graduates are saying…
“This June I will be graduating from Oregon State University’s agriculture program at Eastern Oregon University. My major is Agriculture Science. Last summer I started an internship with Got Hay? Inc. and continued to work for this company all year. In this capacity I learned a lot about large equipment maintenance and the hay industry. Currently, I plan to continue working for Got Hay? through this coming hay season. After that I will assess my options in the ag industry and decide what opportunities to pursue in the Pacific Northwest. The OSU agriculture program prepared me for working in all aspects of agriculture, including soil sciences, range land management, business and crop production. I am extremely grateful to WAEF and the donors for helping me achieve my goals. I am proud to be a WAEF alum! Thank you!” – Neil Carleton
