Danna Sue (Gebbers) Guzman was born in Brewster, to Dan and Reba (Riggan) Gebbers. She went to school in the Brewster School District and graduated with her classmates as a 12-year Senior in 1971. After graduating, she attended Eastern Washington State College for two years, before finishing her education at the Deaconess School of Nursing in Wenatchee, where she earned her Nursing degree in 1975.

Throughout high school, Danna worked as a Candy Striper in the local community and continued serving by working at the hospital on weekends throughout college. Danna’s lifelong mission was to care for people. Her specialty was working with and helping the elderly and their families.

She had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor. She was never afraid to express her opinion and always shared her faith. She liked to send daily Bible verses to encourage others to believe in Christ, her Savior. Her home church was the Calvary Baptist Church in Brewster.

Danna was a lifelong resident of Brewster, WA. She married Pat Thompson and they had three children, Melanie, Brian and Jason. She then married the love of her life, Pedro Guzman, who was with her every day for 23 years. They had one daughter, Reba.

She and Howard Gamble were two of the biggest fans at the Brewster sporting events, where they enjoyed sitting next to each other. She loved politics and was a constant listener of Rush Limbaugh and Don Imus. Tiger Woods was her favorite golfer, and she knew everything about The Masters Tournament. She loved NASCAR and Jeff Gordon.

Danna loved her grandparents, John and Martha (Gamble) Gebbers. At the time of her birth, Martha had them blow the sawmill whistle in celebration. She spent many hours with John and Martha riding horses, taking car rides, going to Alta Lake and spending time on the ranch.

Danna was a voracious reader. She never was without a book, sometimes reading multiple books at the same time. She encouraged her grandchildren and children to read, sometimes having them read aloud to her. Not only did she encourage reading, but also encouraged her grandchildren to explore their artistic side. She proudly displayed all of their artwork on nearly every wall of her home.

She served honorably on the Brewster Flat Irrigation Board, helping to ensure future water supply for agriculture in the area. She also served on the Board of Directors at The Apple House Warehouse and Storage.
