Mac Riggan Joins WAEF Board, Bringing Industry Experience and a Passion for Opportunity

Mac Riggan, Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Chelan Fresh, brings a lifetime of experience in Washington’s tree fruit industry to the WAEF Board of Directors. Mac began working at a young age in his family’s cherry orchard and built his career in a hands-on, family business environment where adaptability, teamwork and a commitment to continuous learning have been key to success.

Mac’s journey, from working his way through college to helping grow and lead Chelan Fresh, has shaped his belief in the power of opportunity. He understands that financial pressures can influence more than a student’s ability to attend college. They can also affect a student’s ability to participate in internships, leadership opportunities, networking and other experiences that help prepare them for life after graduation.

A strong advocate for mentorship, Mac credits much of his professional growth to guidance he received early in his career from an experienced industry leader who helped him develop the work ethic, communication skills and leadership habits that continue to influence his approach today. He now carries that commitment forward by investing in and mentoring young professionals within his organization.

Deeply rooted in the Wenatchee Valley, Mac is committed to supporting the next generation of leaders and helping create opportunities for young people to succeed. He views WAEF as a meaningful way to invest in students and strengthen the communities that have contributed so much to his own family’s story.

As a board member, Mac looks forward to building relationships with fellow board members, learning from their perspectives and helping ensure that WAEF continues to expand educational opportunities for students connected to Washington’s tree fruit communities.
