The Northwest Horticultural Council (www.nwhort.org) located in Yakima, Washington, and representing the Pacific Northwest tree-fruit industry on trade and technical policy issues, is seeking a regulatory information specialist. Successful candidate will assist existing staff on a range of matters related to agricultural chemicals, food safety, export market access, and other policy issues of importance to our members. Key focus will be on monitoring and analysis of domestic and international regulatory changes in these areas of concern and helping communicate commercially relevant changes to our industry. Qualifications include: University degree and strong academic performance; excellent writing skills; careful attention to detail; comfort in public speaking opportunities; familiarity with office data and word processing programs (including experience with web-based communication); and a valid driver’s license. Previous work experience in an agricultural or related field and foreign language skills, while not required, will be viewed positively.
