As part of WAEF's Student Stewardship Program, care packages are sent to our 200+ students away at college. The packages are sent twice during the year, the first is sent in the fall as they begin or return to school, and the second in the spring just before finals.
What are they? WAEF Care Packages are a parcel that contain food items, gifts, coffee cards, school supplies that are sent to students who are attending college. Each is unique as the items it contains are selected by the volunteer filling.
Who Sends Them? Incredible volunteers! Volunteers usually form teams within their respective work places, with family, and also friends to send to as many as 20 students twice yearly! We at WAEF are so appreciative of the volunteers who support these students through care packages.
We have heard countless times from the students how much these packages serve as encouragement, stress relief, and motivation to work hard and not to give up: someone else believes in them!
We wanted to share with you photos and captions from this fall that the students posted on social media, or sent in letters and emails to show their appreciation.
Thank you to the volunteer teams and individuals this fall:

"I hope you're having a good day so far. I just wanted to let you know that my care package came in the mail today! After two long lectures and my first college test, this really brightened my day. So thank you to you and everyone volunteering at WAEF. I really appreciate everyone's continued kindness and support."
"I have been fortunate enough to receive a couple over the years and the timing is always so perfect-an encouragement and bright spot when I need it the most! It's really one of the personal, thoughtful touches the makes WAEF stand out above everyone else in their care for the well being of students!"
"I just wanted to let you know that I received my care package and I wanted to say thank you! I love how I got a note of encouragement! I'm definitely hanging that up by my desk just in case I ever need reassurance! Thank you so much for everything I'm so great full to be part of the waef community!"
