The Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) will award approximately $850,000 in new and renewing scholarships this spring. The deadline for new applicants to submit scholarship applications to WAEF is March 1st, 2016. WAEF scholarship applications are accessed through the foundation’s website, www.waef.org, under the “scholarships” tab.
Qualified applicants for WAEF scholarships have a tie to the tree fruit industry. For a complete list of scholarships and qualifications, please visit www.waef.org/scholarships and view “Award Descriptions.” Scholarships awarded through WAEF may be used by students at accredited trade/technical schools, two-year and four-year public and private colleges and universities.
Two separate applications are available to college-bound and college enrolled applicants. Applicants pursuing a technical/vocational education will utilize the WAEF Vocation Scholarship Application. A list of qualified vocational/technical programs are listed in the application description. Students pursuing two- and four-year degrees will utilize the WAEF Universal Scholarship Application. Both applications are available at www.waef.org/scholarships.
All applications must be completed and submitted online. Printed forms are not available.

WAEF expects to extend scholarship assistance to approximately 200 students for the 2016-17 school year.
In 2015, WAEF awarded $850,000 in scholarships. The foundation currently assists 225 students.
