Wenatchee, WA… The Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) is now selling $25 raffle tickets for a chance to win a 2014 REARS 400 gallon TTN Powerblast Sprayer, valued at approximately $20,000, to benefit the Foundation’s charitable programs. The raffle will take place at the Washington State Horticultural Association (WSHA) annual meeting in December at the Wenatchee Convention Center. The winning ticket holder will be announced during the WSHA Industry Awards Banquet on December 3rd, ticket holders need not be present to win.
This is the nineteenth year the WAEF has conducted the fundraising raffle which funds educational opportunities for children and families from Washington’s tree fruit growing communities. In 2013 college scholarship awards were valued at greater than $650,000, an investment in 181 college-bound students raised in tree fruit growing communities. An additional $20,000 was granted to school and community programs assisting farmworker families succeed scholastically. The annual raffle and live auction held at the WSHA Annual Meeting is a primary fundraiser of the WAEF.
Tickets can be purchased at the WAEF office or at the foundation booth at the Wenatchee Convention Center December 2nd and 3rd. The raffle prize, a REARS 2014 Powerblast Sprayer, has been donated by the Rear family of Oregon.
